Fall 2012: Glossy Eyes

So I was flipping through my Elle magazine for November 2012, and I saw a page with this picture. I was so intrigued at this trend: glossy eyes? The idea is to put high-shine lip gloss on your lids, no primer necessary. It's so interesting and apparently photographs very well!

Would you do it?

OPI - I'd Like to Thank...

This polish is my favorite Fall polish. I don't know if you can see it, but it reminds me of maple leaves in the autumn when it changes to that golden red color. This is a multi-dimensional polish that shines from rose to gold in the light--beautiful! I also LOVE the brush that it comes with... nice and wide for even coverage in a single stroke.

OPI never fails.

Essie's Power Clutch

Essie's "Power Clutch"
I guess I've really been into nail polish lately, haha. This is part of Essie's newest collection with is... luggage themed? I don't know! This one is called "Power clutch", another is called "Carry on", and one other is called "Lady-like" (which I'd posted on a couple days ago; no picture though, unfortunately). Like all Essie polishes, it's thin... but this one takes only two coats to get full coverage on the nails. I'm pretty happy with this one; if you check out my other Essie posts (see the tags), you'll know it usually takes me about three coats to get good coverage, so I definitely recommend it.

It's a really dark gray color but it's got more depth than a simple charcoal. The best way for me to describe it is that it almost has a greenish-purple hint. Very small, virtually unnoticeable and not noticeable at all in the bottle. Definitely a Fall color.

PS: Thanks for your patience with me! School's been going on and I'm trying to keep up with new posts :)

Aruba Blue - Fall 2011 Trend

The Fall 2011 trend calls for dark, midnight blue--I've found the perfect polish for this! It's Essie's "Aruba Blue". It's so dark, darker than the picture, with an oh-so-subtle shine. I'm actually more impressed with this polish than the other Essie polishes because it had higher pigmentation; if I did it right, I might be able to get away with just one coat.

Let me know what you think!
